GRNMA INFORMANT
Know the facts about GRNMA...
GRNMA, Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association is the mouthpiece for nurses and midwives.
GRNMA holds the bargaining certificate recognized by the ministry and labour union.
This explains why GRNMA was the only union invited to bargain the conditions of Service for all nurses and midwives.
Members are deducted monthly from their salaries as follows :
📢2 percent of your basic salary (for administrative works and payment of retirees benefits. Part has been used to establish Health Fund for Nurses Midwives, which modalities will be known soon)
📢GHC 50 GRNMA fund (administered by Axis Pension. This is investment for Nurses and Midwives which can be accessed on Retirement and resignation)
📢GHC 20 building levy (which is for building projects, particular the regional GRNMA Secretariats and guest houses)
The following are the benefits for members of GRNMA:
1. Your GHC 50 monthly fund deduction is calculated or summed up and paid to you with handsome interest when you retire or resign .
This is why Axis Pension, the administrator of the money sends financial statement to members to inform them of their contributions, interest or gains and balance. Members can also login via axis pension online portal to access their financial statement and profit on the GH¢50 monthly contribution. Members can use either SSNIT number or CAGD Staff ID number to login via this link...

Members should write a request letter, attach payslip indicating the deduction, and provide bank account details to the regional GRNMA Secretariat , to claim this particular benefit on retirement or resignation. This money is paid into your bank account you will provide. Some members benefit will be more than others depending on the period of contribution or deduction. Those whose GRNMA deductions have been stopped without their notice will not benefit, or may receive far lesser than those whose GRNMA deductions have been continuous withouth a break.
I believe you smile over your money anytime you see the message from Axis Fund.
2. Your GHC 20 building levy monthly deduction is used to build 10 regional secretariats/guest houses across the country; the regional capitals to be precise. It is left with only 3 regions and all the constructions will be fully completed. The new national secretariat /hostel is also ongoing. When all are fully constructed, the GHC 20 building levy will be taken off or used for different projects like hospitals, etc based GRNMA conference or Congress decision.
Members benefits from this project by paying only "less than 50 percent" of the public rate when using the guest house, conference, compound or cafeteria for programs.
But members must provide ID Card and payslip indicating the deductions as requirement.
3. Tier 2 pension scheme of members is managed properly to benefit members. The administrator is Entreprise Trustee. Members can use this link to access their tier 2 contribution statement and print their tier 2 membership certificate...

With effective management of such funds, there is maximization of profit. Hence the future of Nurses and Midwives is brighter.
The days that nurses and midwives go on retirement with only GH¢ 2,000 is now a history.
Taking the GRNMA fund for better analysis.
Contribution 50 cedis monthly as investment will be:
50 × 12 months = 600 cedis yearly + your profit or interest
So let's assume you start work at the age of 25.
60 retirement age - 25 years
= 35 years
So your retirement benefit from the 50 cedis monthly GRNMA fund administered by Axis Pension will be...
35 years × 600 cedis
= GH¢ 21,000 + your profit or interest
4. When a member loses a spouse (husband or wife),
You write request letter for death benefit, attach death certificate, your payslip indicating deductions to your Regional GRNMA Secretariat.
You will be given an amount of money to support the funeral arrangement.
5. If you are not well, and needs treatment that is "so expensive", you can apply for financial assistance from GRNMA and the union will respond. This is done from the Grnma dues.
Currently there is a Health Fund and modalities will be made known soon.
6. Few months before you retire, visit your Regional GRNMA secretariat and submit requirement to claim all benefits including GRNMA fund, retirement benefit of GHC 1,500, and also your tier 2 will be processed and paid as such.
The GH¢1,500 is different from the GRNMA fund that will be given to you.
Note that other retirees can get less, like GHC 500 or less. These retirees are those who forfeited the payment of dues and stopped the deductions from CAGD. when you cheat on the system, that is the results.
I therefore advice you , especially midwives, Enrolled Nurses, Community Nurses and all other cadres to check on your E-payslip monthly to confirm if the GRNMA deduction is appearing or not.
If you are not deducted, kindly contact your Regional GRNMA executives for directive to reinstate the GRNMA deductions so you can enjoy all these benefits.
Let's also visit the SSNIT office to follow up on our tier 1 contribution. Let's access the SSNIT statement and ensure our monthly contribution reflects in the system.
